Residential cycle hangars
We are installing cycle hangars for residents as part of our Secure On-street Cycle Parking project.
This project aims to provide secure, on-street cycle storage options for residents of high-density housing, such as tenements and multi storey buildings, without access to private garages or gardens.
- phase 1 ran from 2020 to 2023 and installed 180 hangars across the city
- phase 2 is currently underway, which includes a further 200 hangars. These are being installed in three stages: summer 2024, summer 2025, and early 2026.

Grease Monkey administers the cycle hangar programme and maintains the hangars on behalf of the Council.
